Support USM’s New Residence Hall

The University of Saint Mary has two residence halls – Berkel Hall and Maria Hall – which house 368 students. Over the past few years, USM’s undergraduate population has grown to more than 700 students.
During the 2022-23 academic year, 20 sophomores and a number of upperclassmen lived off-campus because Berkel and Maria Halls were at capacity. Not having adequate space to house the students who would prefer to live on campus resulted in the following:
• Students missing out on the on-campus living experience
• $200,000 in lost revenue
The Impact of Living on Campus
Students benefit in a variety of ways from being able to reside on their college campus. Residential life:
• Builds Community and Relationships
• Assists with Student Safety
• Alleviates the Burden of Community
• Is Often More Affordable than the Larger Real Estate Market
• Helps with Student Retention
